Judith Tremelling and husband David purchased Chy an Creet in 1998 and immediately set about refurbishment. Within days of
opening they were awarded a commendation by the AA, quickly followed by quality ratings from the AA and the English Tourist Board. In 2007, encouraged by the AA's policy, they changed the hotel's name to
commemorate Edgar Skinner, whose epitaph proudly states that "He went through life with outstretched hand of help".
Judith entered the hospitality industry in 1972 when she left her home city of Leicester to work for friends at The Old
Vicarage Hotel in St Ives and never went back. Her special responsibility is catering and front-of-house. To her original Silver Service qualification she has added updated food handling qualifications and,
more recently, "Welcome Host" accreditation.
