This is Rosamunde Pilcher country. Within easy reach of Edgar's at Chy an Creet are many of Cornwall's
most picturesque places including St.Michael's Mount, the cathedral city of Truro, Mousehole near Penzance, the Minack open-air theatre, Land's End and many other places of outstanding natural beauty...
St.Ives town was granted its Charter in 1639 and Mayor Choosing still takes place each year. Our five golden
sandy beaches, Porthminster, The Harbour, Bamaluz, Porthgwidden & Porthmeor, have attracted holidaymakers since the Great Western Railway first began running their steam trains along the prettiest branch line in
the west. Don't miss a trip - although now you travel in a comfortable modern "sprinter" train! Around the Bay, between St.Ives and Godrevy Lighthouse you can also take your pick of Carbis Bay
beach, Lelant (Porthkidney Sands) or Hayle's three miles of golden sands. St.Ives is a member, by invitation, of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club and we are proud to have top-quality Blue Flag beaches to offer you.
In the last century artists, too, discovered the town. Its clear natural light continues to inspire the many
resident painters in their studios & galleries. Many of these are open to visitors, as are the Tate Gallery at Porthmeor Beach, the Barbara Hepworth Museum on Barnoon Hill and the Leach Pottery
which is just 25 yds from CHY-AN-CREET. St.Ives Plein-air artists of the Newlyn School are represented at the Penlee House Gallery in nearby Penzance.
We are now fortunate in being at one point on the triangle of notable new major attractions in Cornwall, each
of which is easily accessible from Chy-an-Creet. The very popular Tate St.Ives is just a walk away, the fascinating National Maritime Museum Cornwall is nearby at Falmouth and the famous Eden Project can
usually be reached in much less than an hour by car.
St.Ives, an old and quaint fishing port with more than a few very narrow streets "Down'long",
was built long before the motor car, so one of our prized assets is the ample free car parking (at owner's risk) in our hotel grounds "up-along" throughout your stay.

Riding, pony trekking, walking, golf, surfing, fishing, sailing, parascending,
diving, antiquities, history and heritage, boat trips, guided tours, sketching, arts, shell seeking - these interests and many more are catered for locally.
Bus services (including the open-top summer service to Zennor and Land's End) stop opposite the hotel and the South West Coastal Path is nearby.
Come, explore...
